Free Music Friday, Cherry Blossom Edition - Priests Live on WFMU

It's tough to think about spring when most of the eastern United States suffered another winter storm yesterday, but rest assured a change in seasons is underway. The days are growing longer and the sunlight is feeling stronger.

Spring in DC is inexorably tied to the cherry blossom trees, given to this country by the Japanese in the early 20th century. What better pick for Free Music Friday could we make than local punk wunderkinds Priests on WFMU's Cherry Blossom Clinic with Terre T? The foursome are as much a force of nature as a band, their sound erupting from the speakers like hot ash from a volcano. Their sound owes a debt both to the riot grrrl movement of the Pacific Northwest and DC's own Dischord flavor of punk, and they showcase selections from across their growing discography in this live session.
